Transplant Transmission, Powertrain & Diesel is a family owned and operated business located in Downingtown, Pennsylvania that has been serving the vehicle owners of Chester County for 30 years.
Scott Dittbrenner, the original owner, opened the business as a little three bay shop on Business Route 30 on the west side of Downingtown. He outgrew his original facility and moved his business to the current location on Boot Rd. on the east side of Downingtown in the summer of 2000. Sadly, Scott passed away in February, 2003 leaving the business to his wife, Arlene, who ran it while homeschooling her two children, David and Lindsay.
Lindsay who did the bookkeeping for Transplant between her classes graduated from Cabrini University in 2013 with a BS in accounting. She now resides in Downingtown with her husband, son and their two dogs, Bruce her Great Dane who many of you may recall meeting at the shop over the years and Bear, her new Bernese Mountain Dog puppy.
David first started working on transmissions when he was just 14 years old in between his math and science classes. After high school David served six years in the Pennsylvania National Guard while attending college and working in the business. He then took over ownership of the business in 2013. His dogs, Enzo, a Black Lab and Magure, a Cavalier hang out in the office most days. They enjoy greeting customers and prefer to "come to work" rather than stay home all day.
